Heads Up On Technorati — Good Call From Steven Furtick
I feel ya, Furtick! I discovered Technorati a while back and fell into the black hole for a while myself.
Oh…wait, there are others reading this blog. Let me get you all up to speed.
Technorati is a search engine for blogs and it enables me to see what others are saying about me and my blog every minute of every hour of every day. Can you say, “addiction?”
As pastors we get a lot of criticism. As pastors reaching the unchurched and dechurched with tenacious relevance…we get a TON of criticism. A very good friend of mine is a recovering Technorati user. I’m happy to say he’s now OVER IT!
I really can’t find fault with what Steven Furtick is doing but I can find a whole lot of good! The man is anointed and I’m proud to be called ‘friend’ by him. But for those trying SO HARD to find fault — especially those who claim the title, “Christ Follower,” PLEASE QUIT CLAIMING IT OUTLOUD! You’re hurting the cause of Christ NOT HELPING!
It’s just the simple truth.
Someone had to tell you.
You won’t listen.
But I feel better.
Keep rockin, Steven! You’re taking territory away from the evil one — and he fights dirty!

Titus 3:8-10…I am committed to memorizing those verses and not to just be able to say them whenever I want, but to apply them. Thank-you Steven for feeling God’s nudge on that and humbling yourself to follow His lead.
Satan knows what we are doing, I have seen it in our old church back in MI. Hundreds of people start getting saved and “Christians” become true Christ-followers. He HATES it, and is going to do anything to mess it up. He will use those close among us to say that we need to do this or that; and it will be totally different to what God has laid on the pastors heart. My encouragement to you is this…God has called you to start these churches and the vision for these ministries he gave to you. You are the shepards and we are the flock…my wife and I are in a small group marriage class and it’s on communication. Tonight we studied on submission…Listen up everyone out there…we need to be submissive to our church leaders…this isn’t a democracy or communism…This is God calling a group of select men to a specific vision and with vivid detail as I’m sure Rob would tell you. We need to be submissive to that and most importantly supportive of that. Likewise our leaders need to love us as Christ loved the church…what does the verse say after that phrase? That’s right…”He gave himself up for it!” It’s like any other relationship we have…it’s based on trust.
Let’s cut out the negativity and focus on the positive people! Let’s submitt to our church leaders, not because they are power hungry ego-maniacs, but because we trust them to heed God’s call everyday and because we trust God to lead us all to where He wants us to go and NOT where we want to go. If you can’t do that you’re full of pride, and you know what they say about pride? It’s the root of all evil.
