What An Incredible Day @ Southbrook!!!
Bottom line, I will NEVER forget today.
Today is why we do church in the first place.
Today we saw 100 people profess the magnificent name of Jesus Christ before hundreds and hundreds of their brothers and sisters in Christ! The hill was PACKED and we ran out of food after selling more than 500 hamburgers and bar-b-cue plates! Take a look.

We should have brought more!
We should have planned even bigger!
Because we serve a BIG God!
Next time…300! (people baptized that is…who cares about the number of hamburgers!).
Friends, this day is the culmination of all of your prayers for friends, neighbors, co-workers and loved ones over the last 2 months. Remember all those names on the two towers of light? It made it extra special to see both towers out in front of the pool as a reminder!

One particular picture really summed up the beauty of this wonderful profession of faith known as baptism. Take a look:

Take time right now to thank God for the harvest He’s bringing about at Southbrook Church! We’re turning Union County, all of Charlotte, the state and the world UPSIDE DOWN FOR JESUS!
And…they ain’t seen nothin yet!
Here are a few more pictures from this wonderful day!
See you all soon!
Oh…YOU ROCK!
But God Rocks More!!!

Yesterday was a special day…my daughter Abbi was baptized. It was exciting to see her being baptized with her friends…we have seen an great change in her since we have moved to the ’south’. We were also glad to see Justin get his ‘oscar’. He has had a tremendous influence on my daughter. She loves going to all of the services (she’d stay for all three on Sunday every week if she could drive); she has signed up for the leadership training and we are beginning to see the candle turn to a roaring fire!
Prasie God for the AWESOME work that he is doing in everyone’s lives at Southbrook. Get fired up!

What a day! My husband and I left the 10am service and we were talking about attending the baptism. We had a birthday party to go to at 11:30 and we were trying to decide if the kids would make it through a birthday party and then baptism. My husband was not ready to make that step yet to baptism but in my heart I knew I was ready. I told him that I wanted to wait for him but he said “Pastor Rob said if you are ready then you do it”. So we went to the birthday party and my 18 month old was cranky so my husband took him home. My 4 year old kept bugging me when are we going to the party at God’s house (remind you they had a jumping thing at the party that he didn’t want to play in). So we said our goodbyes and headed back to Southbrook. We got there and the party already started but I sat down with Gabe and started explaining to him what was going on in 4 year old terms. He told me he didn’t want to get “baptied” and I explained when he was a little older he could make that decision. It was near the last group to go in and I grabbed Gabe’s hand and we headed down to the pool. I had a lump in my stomach and thought I am ready to do this! I stood in front of Jeff James with my son in toe and told him why I was ready to do this and asked if Gabe could stand on the deck to watch. I think Gabe thought I was a little crazy….mom getting in a pool with her clothes on but he stood at the deck and watched me profess my love for Jesus Christ. I can’t even type this without getting a little teary eyed. It is a beautiful thing and I could have not asked it to go any better than it did. Thank you all Southbrook Church who put it together!!! You did an awesome job!

Hey Rob!
Finally caught up with your blog move and have read all the recent posts. WOW, what an amazing few weeks we have witnessed. I cannot wait to see, and hopefully be a part of, all the things God has planned. We stand with you and the vision He has given the church and pray that thousands will continue to be reached by SCC. Still holding on, to reach the lost, glorify His name, and spread His fame. It is truly going to be the ride of our lives. My family and I are so excited about and deeply honored to call Southbrook home. : )
In His service,
Matt and Dee Langley

It is close to impossible to describe the day in words. You had to be there, you had to feel the energy, you had to feel the joy, you had to see for yourself as God touched the hearts and lives of every person there.
For those that had already accepted Jesus Christ and had been Baptized in the past, you could see and feel how happy they were for those of us being Baptized on this day.
For those there that have not “yet” accepted Christ, they could not help but look around them and think, wow this is amazing, “what am I missing out on here?” For those folks, keep looking for answers, they are right there and God wants you to ask the questions. Southbrook is an incredible place to find those answers!! Our friends that were there and had been to traditional Baptisms said “wow this is great”.
Pastor Rob and Pastor Dan lowered my wife and I together into the water, as we arose up out of the water the power of God we both felt was so so awesome. It is a day my wife and I will remember for ever. It truly was a day of celebration. We spent the rest of the afternoon talking about just how awesome the day was, how you could see lives being changed, and how we are so lucky to have each other and have both accepted Jesus Christ in our lives.
For me it was my first time being Baptized in any form. We have a lot of friends and family that like my wife were Baptized as a child with a sprinkling of water. Until we found Southbrook, she thought like so many that “she was covered”. Making her own choice to be Baptized again in the way the Bible says we should be was great!
Thank-You to every person that was there to celebrate with us and THANK-YOU God for all you do for ALL of us every day.

Yesterday was a wonderful day.
God is so amazing. After being baptized with my sister and my friend, I was so overwhelmed in God’s love. It’s a feeling I’ve probably never felt before.

three weeks ago i met a guy from Southbrook who i got along with right away, and he began to share how his marriage was DEAD, and that he had given up….
fast forward…. yesterday i stood in that pool with my wife whom i love so dearly with both my sons and my mother watching in the front row as we got baptized together…
and next to me in that pool waiting to be baptized was my new friend…. and his wife
