Whew! We made it!!
With not even one day to spare, we’ve made it. The parking lot and additional 200 spaces are just about graveled up and will be ready for the extra 1,000 or so we are expecting this weekend!
Remember to turn right this time for all the new parking. That needs to fill up first. We will also have full use of the Optimist park lot and therefore should be able to accommodate the cars of at least 3,000 people (hopefully they won’t all jam into one Volkswagen!).
Were ready with the 1200 seat tent as well. We’re extra excited about the tent because it’s nearly the same size as the new worship center we’re planning on opening up in late November.
This weekend will give us all a little ‘preview’ of what that will be like, as well as, waking us up to the fact that we are a large church (that just happens to meet 8X a week in smaller groups!)!
About 6:00 pm tonight (Wed.) they were already this far—> along. So, we’re ready!
We’ve done are part. We’re praying for God to do his part. All that remains is for you all to do YOUR PART!
INVITE!
INVITE!
INVITE!
INVITE!
INVITE!

Today I walked around the new parking lot with my good buddy Ray Pollock, (whom by the way is an awesome example of a servant.) Wow, MUCH bigger than it looked on paper. So were the tractors, dump trucks and steam rollers constantly on the move, MUCH bigger than they looked from the road. I almost got flattened by the steam roller (now that’s becoming involved…) We were looking at how many cars would be able to park here..307 according to someone with the initials Paul Allen. He would know cuz he uses a Blackberry…any way, as we were walking back towards the church Ray said “I don’t think this will take too long to fill up and we’ll need more parking.” Ray know his God. He’s been listening to Him lately and talking about how awesome a God He is.
It’s guys like Ray that make an afternoon stroll thru God’s gravel cool.
It’s places like Southbrook that make guys like Ray come alive, alive in His love for us. That is the heartbeat of our place we call home, where we can encounter God just by showing up. There is a place where the “Postmodern lost”, the hurting, the suffering, the disjointed, can find God, hear the Truth, right here, right now, Southbrook.
