All the right moves
What’s next for the almost 700 new believers in Christ?!
We have a large church within a mega church, but the two have very different needs. If you are one of the individuals who have trusted in Christ as you Lord and Savior this year, your next move is clearly outlined in scripture. You can read […]

Accountability — Continued…
Ok, it’s late, but I’m going to get this in under the wire. I would have posted this earlier, but my little boy and girl were holding me accountable (buzz) to family time.
Everyone is asleep now except for me, the midnight blogger.
So, I mentioned a better way.
Here it is.
WAIT!
Let’s have some fun with it. Maybe […]

Buzz Word Number 2
Accountability
This one has to be the buzz word of the decade, maybe even the century!
I know that ‘Promise Keepers’ rocketed the idea of accountability back to the forefront of every man (and woman’s) mind, but, this one was making a nice comeback even without that.
And, like most, if not all, the buzz words we’ll be […]

Busting at the seams with New Converts!
What an awesome weekend at Southbrook Church! We’ll save the best for last.
First of all, we we’re busting at the seams this weekend with tons and tons of people and crowd control got a little but challenging!
Who’s responsible for this!
I said, who’s responsible for this?!
Oh, ah, I guess the challenging part would be me. I […]

Champions of the Summer
Summer Highlight
For me, one of the definite Summer highlights had to be the absolute blast our Southbrook kids experienced at VBS’ “The Amazing Planet!” It was truly one of the most amazing (no pun intended) kids adventures I’ve ever seen any church do.
Most amazing (sorry, last time) part?
It was all in house!
[…]

Buzz Words – Part 1
The first buzz word is, “Relevant.”
To tell you the truth, I don’t know how long this series will be. There seems to be an endless supply of ‘buzzzzzz words heading our way.
The reality is, it could last a year. There are at least that many buzzzz words out there in the new, edgy, […]

It’s a Poor Trade Off
I’ve seen this before.
Several times actually.
Even been told to ‘expect it’ as a pastor of a thriving, growing church
I’m still not used to it though.
Recently I heard about a family that I really love moving back out into the church shopping arena.
Southbrook wasn’t meeting their needs.
They don’t know that I know, but I know more […]

Another chance for those names on the CD’s!
Did your person(s) end up coming to SCC when Clayton King spoke a few weeks back?
If not, this coming weekend will be another opportunity for them to find the love of Christ and the salvation He freely offers.
Or maybe they came a few weeks back, but they did not cross that line of faith.
Don’t give […]

Real Southbrook Stories!
It’s a small world after all.
Want to hear an amazing story? After the 10:00 service a gentleman and his wife and young daughter approached me and waited patiently while I spoke to several other people.
When everyone else was gone, the gentleman (Chris) approached me with tears in his eyes. He told me that he was […]

Labor Day
I wonder why they call this ‘Labor Day?’
If curiosity is getting the better of you, you can read about the auspicious beginnings of this holiday right here. I couldn’t bear to write it all out here because…well…it is incredibly boring.
But I’ll take it!
Here’s my question for you though…
Are you working?
Shame on you, you’re […]

Final Frogger
I’m sensing a bit of froggy fatigue, therefore, I am going to tell you the last 2 things in one post.
Here are the final froggy fine-points:
3. Be committed to following Him, even in times of difficulty
Hardship and sadness are a part of life. There’s no getting around the disappointment and pain, but you do not […]
