What a Weekend!

Saved-small

104 people gave their lives to

Jesus Christ this weekend @ Southbrook Church!

I had an entirely separate post ready to go for Monday gang, but then this happened! God moved in a powerful way this weekend at Southbrook Church as we saw over one hundred people step over that line and bow the knee to Jesus Christ.

That brings this year to nearly 900 people placing their faith in Christ!

That’s why we exist as a church, friends!

This is what we celebrate and this makes any hardship well worth it!

We then went on to baptize some of the folks who couldn’t make it to the baptism we had about a month ago. Around 20 folks were baptized in the not so warm pool.

It was supposed to be the last baptism of the year…but then this weekend happened.

Fire up the over-sized jacuzzi! Looks like were goin in again!

I love this church!

I’m THANK . FULL for my Southbrook Family!!

Want to know something else cool that happen today (Sunday)? You all brought over 500 bags full of non-perishable items to help feed the needy for weeks to come! Check it out below…

Thanksgiving bags

Gang, these bags lines the entire triangular walkway!

The walkway Walkway 2

And that wasn’t even all of them. There were so many bags our massive trailer was inadequate to the task and we will have to make more trips tomorrow!—more trips to places like the Monroe Crisis Pregnancy Center, the Charlotte Rescue Mission (My family and I were there today and had the privilege of preparing the food for and helping feed almost 100 men currently going through the CRM recovery program), and Harvest Kitchen to name a few.

The truck

Here are a few phone pictures from that experience (I apologize for the poor quality but phone cameras still have a long way to go!).

My kids had a great time…SERVING! They each asked if we could go back 20 more times this year!

It just doesn’t get any better than that!

Thank . Full!

Fabulous message on thankfulness! We love when you go in depth in the Bible to make a point about one topic – like thankfulness. It reaches us. The visitor I brought with me was moved by it and talked about it the rest of the day. And that song – can we get that recorded somewhere? The Lord really worked through your message yesterday – thanks!

Hi. this is not Russ, but his wife. I am so happy so many people have accepted Christ as their Savior…I hope we will all be available to help these new Christians as they develop their relationship with Christ.

please be praying for all the newly saved. My daughters friend was one of them and last night satan attacked him by someone throwing a brick thru his car window as it was parked by our house. I have seen this type of warfare before with the young people who have given thier lives to Christ, so please pray for them, thier battle is just beginning!!

When I drove up Sunday morning worship had already begun. The joy on the faces, expressions of love, the giving, and fellowhip in this church is awesome. Rob, thank you for the powerful reminder of the love of God, the gift of life through Jesus Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit. That Holy Spirit is visible in the lives of this staff, leaders, volunteers, with smiles, handshakes, embraces……touching hearts and leading the lost to Christ..

Matt and Dee Langley says:

It is so awesome all the ways God shows up and changes lives. We witnessed people coming to Christ during the Saturday night service. Go God! Oh and RETURN has seen His vision for our church and has heard the message loud and clear. - “Spirit move and let us journey with you to return this generation to God our maker and King”. What an awesome weekend, thank you Father, thank you Rob and staff, and thank you worship team.

The Dream, The Goal, whatever you want to call it, of 1,000 people accepting Christ as their Savior through the ministries of Southbrook THIS YEAR is going to become a reality!!

I know that there are some out there that don’t want to pay attention to numbers or that think these folks are just numbers. I can assure you they are not just numbers. I am afforded the opportunity to be standing in the back each week running the sound. I get to personally see the hands go up. I get to personally stand their and count the number of hands that go up and each time it puts goose-bumps on my arms!!

Think about it…these folks 30 seconds before they prayed the prayer wanting to become Christ-followers were headed to hell!! I think we lose sight of that fact sometimes because we have no idea what hell is going to be like…it’s a place we’ve never seen or been too. It’s just a place that we know we don’t want to go to. But we have to remember that these people aren’t becoming Christ-followers just to avoid hell…if that is the ONLY reason you became a Christ-follower, I’d do some soul searching. These people become Christ-followers because they are lacking something in their lives…HOPE!

Through Rob’s preaching (and willingness to follow God’s leading and not man’s or his own) to all of the others that give up their seats so ’seekers’ can sit in the main building. To all of the ministry workers and volunteers who give up their Sunday’s to serve, these things are what make Southbrook special…so special that God is pleased at what we are doing that he will continue to bring as many people as possible so that they can be led to kingdom, forever!!

We have an awesome church!! Some Sunday’s when we think it wasn’t great or didn’t go well, we need to remember that God will still use it!! We will have an impact each and every week for the kindom of God! A great weekend for everyone this past weekend. If this doesn’t fire you up then think for a moment what hell will feel like for those that don’t know Christ and what your life would be like without hope…BRING ON THE NEXT 104!!!

Kate says:

So, I loved hearing you count the raised hands. And not just because of the ‘numbers’ game, but because of what JT said, they are now with Jesus forever! And because of something that you mentioned at the baptism, all those people are now part of my family! the same family God welcomed me into when I became a Christian. And how exciting to be at the baptism, and seeing some ‘family’ members show how happy they are to be in God’s family!
