Just want to “clarify” a few things
Have you ever heard this one?
This little phrase is sort of like the Christian catch all for every conceivable sin of the tongue. I mean, lets think about this one for a moment…
Example One: A lot of times when someone is jealous of someone else and they are “caught” red handed in their sin (yes, […]

The Numbers Are In!
DIGITS
I am so proud of our Southbrook family! We just wrapped up a mini (1 year) campaign to further our reach for Christ, and the totals nearly equal the campaign we had almost 5 years ago for our first campaign!
Did you catch that? I’m not talking about your typical 3 year marathon deal here, I’m […]

Go Long! (Warning, meaningless post up ahead!)
Now, on with today’s post…”Go Long!”The last time I heard this was as a skinny, 130 lb. (dripping wet) wide receiver on my high-school football team. But for now, it means something else. You see, I have had several people ask me why I never grow my hair even one 1/1,000,000 of an inch over […]

An Amazing Weekend!
I’ll bet you thought I was going to talk about what happened at Southbrook Church this weekend. I would, if I knew. Fact is, I wasn’t there. Clayton King was up to bat this weekend and I’m absolutely positive it was amazing, but that’s just because I know Clayton and every time he speaks it’s […]

Cool Reads I’ve recently discovered
Latest Link Low-Down
Hey gang, it’s no secret that I love reading other people’s blogs and hearing about what the Lord is doing all across this globe. But I have sort of acted like it was a bit of a secret by not sharing these with you all. So…
I’m going to include updates on these deals […]

Surprise Revealed!
…for the 3 people in North Carolina who haven’t yet figured it out.
Drum Roll Please, “Dadalutdadalutdadalut…”

Southbrook Urban Legends, Part 4
Thought I forgot about this one didn’t you?
No way, I told you, there are a million of these things. Churches develop more hokey stories than anyone else. I’m sure of it! First, I need to thank my large team of “Mythbusters” for being on top of this stuff. I had nearly 80 of them […]

I’ll only give you a hint
Basically, gang, I enjoy toying with people some of the time (ok, most of the time), that’s why I want you to try and figure this one out.
It’s awesome though.
Oh, sorry if you happen to be a reader who does not live in the Charlotte, NC area or attend Southbrook — most of my posts […]

More than words
I’m so excited about an upcoming outreach we’re gearing up for at Southbrook. We announced it this past weekend and all I can say about it is…
It’s huge!
It will have an impact we’ll all remember for years to come. And I’m hoping the impact will be so positive on our community and our own hearts […]

Southbrook turns out THANK . FULL!
Wow! One of the biggest weekends ever as almost every service was packed! Saturday was big, 8:30 was huge! 10:00 in the main and the Cafe saw standing room only and if you thought it would let up at 11:30, you would have been wrong!
What a weekend, and it couldn’t be for a better cause!
Southbrook […]

Thank . Full — >
Are you Thank . Full?
The stories keep coming in from our “Pop Quiz” from God. If you do not remember this deal it was when we tricked (oops, I mean, encouraged) folks to step out in faith and test God by giving money they knew they would not get back. It was easy to get […]

My first Southbrook Utter
A response to “Southbrook Urban Legend #3”
Hey gang, check this thing out. Yes, you’ll be hearing a lot more from me with this cool little widget! And don’t bother begging for mercy, I feed on that sort of stuff being the sadistic pastor that I am. It will only make me talk all the more! […]

Southbrook Urban Legends, Part 3
Freaky Friday
Ok, time to continue with our Southbrook Urban Legends. There are approximately 1 million or so of them, so I have decided to make this a category and come back to it every now and then as needed.
Today’s legend is about…well…today. It’s about Fridays. You see, alot of our staff take Fridays as their […]
