Hannah Montana Who?

Earlier this week, in case you missed it, an event that got way more attention than the evening God came to dwell among us occurred right here in
I’ve got nothing against Hannah, in fact, from everything I gather, she’s a far better role model than 99.9 % of who’s come down the pike, but I was a bit taken back by the flat out frenzy and mob mentality created in order to get tickets for her show. And there was a bit of déjà vu.
Hadn’t we just seen all this with Hillary Duff (aka, Lizzie Mcguire)?
Where is she now?
She couldn’t buy a full arena at this point in her carreer.
But she’s one of the lucky ones.
What about Brittney Spears?
She’s no longer famous, now she’s just infamous.
For all the wrong reasons.
I wonder what would happen if we could harness that kind of passion and excitement for Jesus Christ?
Watch out world! You might just fall in love with the God who made you.
And that’s not fleeting.
By the way, for more thoughts on this, our pastor of adult ministries (Geoffry Janes) wrote a nice piece. Check it out here.

Hey Southbrook, I guess it is now officially Christmas season. And I know that everyone is busy with all that goes with it. There are two Southbrook families that I know of (I am sure that there are more) that could use some help this Christmas. Myself and a few others are trying to get some funds together to do just that. I have contacted a few of you in the past week or so about this and did not receive a reply back. I am sure that there are many who are trying to help others this Christmas but if anyone is interested in contributing to help out these two families please contact me ASAP.
Thanks,
Bob

No, Russ, you were right. This blog went out early on accident. I just fixed it. Thanks for the tip…I had put the wrong date on it!

You make a very good point Rob, every year there is always another “hannah montana” out there but Jesus is the one who stays year after year! I am guilty of crying when I got New Kids on The Block tickets because i was so excited, now where are they?

Hey Rob!
My husband and I were watching tv and we saw a news clip about a bunch of people on Black Friday who were charging into the stores like a herd of angry buffalo. My husband sat there and quietly made the comment- “too bad you never see people charging into church like that to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas”. Wow- what a ministry comment that was! We pray that one day the news clip will be of folks charging in to worship the birth of our Christ and not just shop for the latest and greatest “thing” or “person” of the moment! Let’s all remember the REASON FOR THE SEASON!!!! Hooray!!! ![]()

When there is a Christian concert there is never that much fever. I agree with you. Have good services tomorrow.

I’m going to find out.

I think we were “short changed” on this blog, or am I missing the point?
