A Griswold Christmas

Tis the season to party! Our Executive pastor, Paul Allen and his wife, Sandy hosted a ministry leader’s drop in tonight (part 2 is tomorrow night) and they’ve been telling us that the people on their street are sort of having a Griswold type battle to see who can use the most electricity per minute. Two neighbors in particular are vying for first place. Who do you think will win this year? You be the judge.

Actually, seriously, you be the judge. Leave a comment as to whether you think house A or house B should win and I will forward your votes along to Paul. Let’s see if we can influence the vote! Here they are:

House A House B

Seriously, I love throwing a wrench in the works, and for what it’s worth, I was there and house B has the edge in my opinion.

Anyway, I love December! Christmas is my favorite time of the year! We’ve been having a blast both hosting and attending all the different Christmas parties this year. Southbrook church alone has more parties than McDonalds has meals served! But my favorite one each year is our staff Christmas party—a chaotic white elephant gift exchange that never fails to get out of control each year. And every year there is one hilarious gift that everyone fights for. This year it was this:

Note: Youtube puts a menu of additional videos for viewing after you play mine. Some of these are inappropriate and should not be viewed. As soon as I figure out how to block these I will. Until then. SKIP THESE! They are not from me or Southbrook Church.

Here are some other pictures from the evening…enjoy!

House B has the better look.

By the way, check this recommendation for youtube videos:

“here is how you block the ‘related videos’ displaying at the end of your YouTube clips. And it has got a lot easier since the release of the new YouTube movie player. When you copy and paste the code into your blog, you will see the text “&rel=1″ near the end of the movie URL. All you need to do is change the 1 to a 0. So “&rel=1″ becomes “&rel=0″. Remember that the movie URL is referenced twice in the code, so you need to change this both times.

If for some reason you don’t see the above text in your code, or you are going back and editing your old YouTube posts, you can simply add “&rel=0″ (remember to remove the “” marks) to the end of the movie URL in the code.”

House B for Cindy and I as well … I just wanted to see the guy put the blow ups on the roof … Love the low rider …. all I heard about at church today was how that car was the best white elephant gift of the night …

House B here…I went on Sunday night and it was nice seeing everyone. Thank you Paul and your wife for opening your home!

P.s. If anyone wants to see a Griswold house with talent…

House B.

On the note of Christmas.
Don’t think that Christ in Christmas isn’t really that important, and slack this Christmas season, I know with everything going on it can be hard to still focus on reaching out. Yet blogs like this make me more aware that there are still lost around the Christmas season.

this blog proves that we still have lost to go after even if its Christmas.

Have to agree and go with house B. Thankyou all at Southbrook for all that you do and especially for they way you bring us all closer to God.
Merry Christmas to all.
