Weekend Reflections

We wrapped up our, “Friends with Benefits” series today with the message, “The No-Consequences Myth.” This was the first (and only) message in the four part series that I felt entirely comfortable having kids in the service. Why? Because I knew even kids needed to hear the one solution to every problem we talked about all month long. In a word?

Jesus.

And 41 people placed their trust in Christ for salvation! That will never get old to me. Each time I see this happen right before my very eyes it is like witnessing the birth of a baby. Physical birth is a phenomenal miracle no matter what perspective you’re coming from. In fact, I’ve never even heard an atheist treat it like nothing out of the ordinary. It’s the same thing with spiritual birth only better if you can believe it. Because this is not only a more rare event, but it’s also birth into the family of God and it’s something that never ends. Your membership in this family is eternally secure!

It was truly an awesome weekend!

Here are some other reflections I’ve had;

That’s it for now, gang. Thanks for inviting your friends and neighbors. For those of you who saw your loved ones cross that line of faith, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you, “It was worth it!”

And thanks for letting me be your pastor!

It’s the greatest job on earth!

Pictures from the Newcomer’s lunch…enjoy!

We were unaware of the luncheon until third service. We were unable to attend to help out but know that we lifted your meeting in prayer on the way home. God is moving through our community like a wild fire and we are humbled to be a small part of this Church Family.
Thanks for all you do Pastors!!
God Bless

Pastor Rob….I thought you were too hard on your concern for the younger childen in church hearing your messages. If anything, middle school children should have been encouraged to attend, as too many of them are experimenting and some are definitely sexually active already. By the time a child is ten years old, if the parents have not taught them the truth, the school has taught them, through their peers. So, the message, sex before marriage is wrong, sex outside of marriage is wrong, and if your are doing any of the above, you need to stop. Cant’ be told enough, or early enough. So, you need not be apologetic, just more gung ho!

i agree with Sandy.
The stuff I hear from kids in middle and some even in elementary school scares me.
Way to be bold and get the message out.

What a power series…”Friends With Benefits”.

For me, it was very heartbreaking to listen to. My life used to be like this, even as long as 25 years ago. However, it didn’t have catchy name for what we were doing. As I listened to each of Pastor Rob’s sermons on podcasts, I basically cried my heart out each time and I felt like he was talking about my past life. This series has affected me in so many ways imaginable. As he prayed, I prayed and I ask Jesus to come into to my heart and forgive me for my past life. Within minutes of this and for the first time in years, I felt “lighter” and “happier”, if that makes sense???? For years, I’ve been carrying around this baggage of guilt and shame and I had no idea that it was this baggage that was affecting my lifestyle today. My relationship with my husband, my children and my other family members. I don’t want to lose this feeling….now where do I go from here?
