Love these days!

Today we celebrated 6 weeks of major life transformation in hundreds of lives as we learned to live like we only have a short time on this earth.

Why would anyone want to do that, you say?

Well, ever notice how people who have been given the “bad news” seem to gain a remarkable clarity and passion about the things that really matter? They develop an instant, ‘laser focussed life’ that alludes most of the rest of us.

Good news. During the last 6 weeks hundreds of us learned to live this way whether we have 30 days or 80 years left on this earth. And many of these people kicked off their new outlook on life by being baptized this weekend at one of our 4 outdoor services.

52 people took the plunge in order to profess before their friends and family at Southbrook that they trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and that they plan on living the rest of their lives with Him in the driver’s seat! Glory to God!

I’ll have some pictures for you and a video tomorrow. For now, I just wanted you to know so that you could celebrate with us!

* and MEN of SOUTHBROOK?!

Don’t forget that tomorrow morning at 6:30 am is our large men’s gathering at the Video Cafe! The first Monday of each month close to a hundred men serious about putting God first in their lives and becoming the leaders God called them to be join their peers for a brief time of training from God’s Word and fellowship with other men from Southbrook church.

Don’t miss it!

Our family had to miss the baptisms today to be at my niece’s church for her confirmation, but I had just gotten the word about two young men who received Christ today and were baptized. We are shouting for joy in our family!

We had been in prayer over these two men who had been best friends with each other since childhood. One is a marine hero just back from Iraq and told his incredible story to about 40 of us in my living room a few weeks ago. We prayed over him and could already see the Lord working in both these men’s lives. On that day, this hero’s friend surprised us by announcing that he would be seeing us at church. Since then, my boys have been in prayer over both of them.

Praise the Lord for Southbrook that reaches people where they are in life and reveals God’s truth to them. We’ll continue to lift these men up, along with a little brother, Graham, who also got baptized today.
God is good!

We were at the Sat service and it was great to see the power start there. Then I found out thls evening that two children from our small group, Hannah and Noah Blair were baptized today. It is great to see these two children…become young adults before us and I just wanted to let them know how proud we are that they made the decision to accept Jesus into their lives. They have two great role models, their parents, Deanna and Scott to help guide them!

Rob; What an amazing day at Southbrook. Many of those 52 people were from Children’s Church and over and over brought tears to my eyes to see their lives changed … how wonderful it will be to live a life having starting with JESUS at age 9, 10, 11 or 12 … rather than waiting till 35. (like someone I know) … I am blessed to have been part of this great day!

Rob what an awesome day to serve. I had the pleasure of helping out with the baptism sign ups and to be able to pray with some excited moms about their childrens decisions, and praying with groups of people waiting to be baptized was just amazing and humbling to the spirit. I also got to meet the young man who survived Iraq and give him a huge hug.
Thank you God for putting such wonderful people in my life and for a great place to worship!!
Have a great Day Pastor
